I have said this before, I don't expect the 1000 series cards to be world beaters, Nvidia doesn't have to come out with these world beater of cards when there smacking AMD around in the market share.

TBH I expect this to go down like the Maxwell release.
They released the 980 and said it was the best with just above 780Ti performance with the bigger GPUs coming later.
They will release the 1080 and it will be the best nvidia GPU for a bit but we all know that Big Maxwell will eventually come and Nvidia will release a Titan and a Ti.

While they might have the market lead currently, if they are complacent and try to play too many games AMD could just as easily come out with a complete firecracker of a gpu. I'm not saying anything is certain but they aren't so far ahead performance wise that they can rest easy

The general public seems ignorant of that fact, though, if you look at the market share. Oh, and then there are the absolute cringefests we call comment sections on anything GPU-related posted on either Facebook or YouTube.
