Just seen the picture where Nvidia claims it's faster than a Titan X well if that's case AMD has no chance of picking up any more market share.
I can't see these 1000 series cards being cheap like everyone is hoping.
Also now i can't see Polaris being faster than Pascal.
Obviously going to be faster than a TX... It was just marketing speaking there. A 980SLI is faster than a TX, obviously it's therefore faster than a single TX. That's what you would expect from such a large drop in Node sizes.
FYI Polaris isn't aimed at the super high end. It's a replacement to the aging 300 series.. aka Hawaii and below. Fiji will be replaced with Vega
Even still i can't even see it beating the GTX1070 or even the GTX1060 as i have said AMD need to come out with something that is going to beat the lower cards from Nvidia which i can't see happening IMO Nvidia is just too far out in front.
Can't see it happening because no one has seen AMD cards. The hype train is really rolling with Pascal.
Can't see AMD coming out with a card that is going to compete with Nvidia on power usage, Also i'm not buying into the hype of Pascal cause most of the stuff with Pascal i'm not even interested in like VR and other stuff they talked about.
I think VR is completely over rated
The GPU will have 8GB of GDDR5X memory, 2560 CUDA cores based on the Maxwell Architecture, with Nvidia claiming that this GPU has twice the performance of the Titan X.
Display Port 1.3 is being used on the 1000 series apparently with 1.4 support, Nuts !
Oh and a little error -
Not too keen on this founders edition 1080 which gives more headroom for overclocking and will cost $100 more for basically the same card but slightly modified.
That makes no sense...
And if you are implying it will use DP1.4, i highly doubt it. It was only standardized in March. Pascal was way beyond a point to change that.
I'm not implying anything dude, I'm repeating what is on Nvidia's page
I watched the stream live and the 1000 series will be equipped with dp 1.4 allowing 4k@120hz.
