NVidia 3D Vision 2?

So i'm looking at buying the nvidia 3d glasses tomorrow, but i just noticed that there is now 3d vision 2 glasses, which seem much better. My only worry though is that my monitor may not support the new 3d glasses, so does anyone know the requirements for the 3d vision 2 glasses?

as far as i know they are backwards compatible, but dont quote me on that. While they're probably compatible with your monitor, you won't be able to benefit from the new lightboost technology which requires a compatible monitor. i would still get them because of the larger glasses and the much more comfortable design. price was roughly the same as the original when i looked so there's really no reason not to get them.

Edit: They are backwards compatible. Link: http://3dvision-blog.com/nvidia-3d-vision-2-a-new-generation-3d-active-shutter-glasses/

They also block out some peripheral light, which can cause a bit of flickering when you're gaming in a room where there is a bit of light (which is v. annoying). Probably better to get them over the v1 glasses.

Great thanks guys, off to buy them from scan now

Bought them, they work great! Fully backwards compatible, unlike what the guy in scan said: "no mate it's a completely different technology" lol
