NV PhysX Tweaker 1.0

I have two 8800GTX in SLi and know 8series and above support CUDA based PhysX. Yet the drivers needed for this are not for 8-series as they are 177 drivers not 175  I got bits let me use them damn it

I want to give UT3 a whirl with PhysX enabled in driver.

UT3 PhysX pack

Adds support for NVIDIA PhysX on GeForce 9800 GTX, GeForce GTX 280, and GeForce GTX 260 GPUs, including SLI configurations.

Experience GPU PhysX acceleration today by downloading the Unreal Tournament 3 PhysX Mod Pack.

Supports AGEIA PhysX processors and software runtimes (no change to PPU support).

Supports the following PhysX runtime engines: 2.8.1, 2.8.0, 2.7.4, 2.7.3, 2.7.2, 2.7.1, 2.7.0, 2.6.4, 2.6.3, 2.6.2, 2.6.1, 2.6.0, 2.5.1, 2.5.0, 2.4.4, 2.4.1, 2.4.0, 2.3.3, 2.3.2, 2.3.1

Includes the latest PhysX runtimes used in the latest game titles

Developers: PhysX SDK 2.7.3 is required GeForce PhysX acceleration via CUDA 2.0.

Has this in the release log. Maybe it`s not 8800 time yet. (tbh if that`s the case, I wouldn`t see them implementing it, even if they could - for purely m$-style marketing reasons)

I didn`t know they had a v8 driver, I`m still on 7.xxx.

Watch this space mate I may have some news on this for 8 series people.

That would be cool, there's a lot of 8000 users out there that would love to have it. Everything I've read so far has only mentioned 9800/200.

The altered INF files for the drivers are out there and I have the XP x64 ones and HAVE been playing UT3 Extreme PhysX for the last hour very happily. Or at least everything is activated so it should be on as there is no reason it should not be.

Runs as smooth as a lapped CPU

U know what nVidia will do as soon as the dust has settled, things are sorted out and there`s people altering stuff..

.. encryption.

@ rrjwilson - are you sure gpu physx is enabled?

Is "GeForce PhysX" enabled/selected in the physx properties page?

like: http://www.abload.de/image.php?img=physx0ai.jpg

(not my screenie, just one i found on the net.)

i thought the modded inf's were to allow all nv cards to work with the 177 gfx driver series, but the physx software has to be modified to allow support for other cards

i've been waiting too (8800GTX), but not seen anyone with a G80 card say they were successful :( (until now)

No i'm not PhysX enabled I'm still greyed out but the drivers have installed fine and dandy.

There is currently NO support for G80 hardware.

G92 and up can have PhysX though just using the modded drivers.

Ok so I've been doing some poking and I'd like to gain some information from you all that have PhysX working as proved by the nVidia PhysX control panel.

Go to your registry editor (Start - Run - regedit - OK)

Go to here:

XP x64: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Ageia Technologies

XP 32: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ageia Technologies

Vista 64:

Vista 32: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ageia Technologies

Then could you show a screenshot or type out the values for each entry with your GPU listed.

I believe there may be something in here that may solve why G80 has not been activated but without more data I cannot know a thing and certainly not get help.

Mine has:

(Default) - REG_SZ - (value not set)

CPanelDoc - REG_SZ - NVIDIA_PhysX_Help.mht

CudaDeviceOrdinal - REG_DWORD - 0xffffffff (4294967295)

HwSelection - REG_SZ -

PhysX BuildCL - REG_DWORD - 0x00000000 (0)

PhysX Version - REG_DWORD - 0x00013ae4 (80612)

PhysXCore Path - REG_SZ - C:\Program Files (x86)\Ageia Technologies

just a question just got round to downloading this i have a 9800 GX2 with a Q9450 is it better have the CPU or GFX running the physx :S?

Very n00b question im guessing

With the GPU running physics CPU can do more data shuffling and therefore speed up rendering. GPUs run parallel tasks perfectly, CPUs do NOT.

If you get PhysX working (which you should) please post the data above.

OK thanks for the reply... the directory for me is different and all i have within the Ageia Technology are the following

HW Selection

anything i have dont wrong?

I dont know.

Im trying to get a census on what is present between those that have it working and those that don't.

If anything it should help rule out possible ways to get round it.
