Not sure what to invest in next

QuietOne

always shouting
I'm getting £700 from my dad next month that he owed me from many moons ago and I am thinking of using maybe all of it on my rig but I have no idea on what.

My first purchase is an AIO cooler for now and some fans for push pull config and some case fans which comes to about £150. After that I have no idea, I was thinking of a second GPU but there's no room with an mATX case unless I go water cooling. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My specs are in my sig but if you need to know more then don't hesitate to ask.

Your rig looks quite nice tbh, maybe some peripherals and a monitor? or share it with the ones in need?

Sorry I was recently given a Corsair K95 keyboard and a Corsair M65 mouse. I recently invested in an Asus 2560*1440 monitor. Second monitor might be a good idea and bigger or more SSD's will always come in handy.

Samsung SSD's are the best choice?

Samsung, Kingston, Corsair, Crucial, Intel are the big players in the SSD market, though I see Samsung 840Pro recommended more than others.
Do you use headphones? getting a proper headphone + sound card would be a good idea.

Thanks Snortan, I use headphones when playing online and using VOIP, at the moment I am using Creative Fatal1ty headphones which are about 4 years old.

I purchased a soundblaster recon3d a couple of years ago but I hate it. I was considering getting an Asus one.

Good little headset for the price. I used it for 2-3 years until the cable finally snapped. If you feel like upgrading in that department get a Xonar STX (or Xonar D2X if you're using 5.1+ speakers) with something like DT770(closed back)/880(semi)/990(open back)/AKG K701/K702(both open back) and a clip on microphone/modmic.

I would rather get a Fiio e10 over the STX.. Its more portable and more convenient.
Also does not require a power connector which always looks ugly imo of the cable is not custom.

After looking around online after some great advice from you lot, I am thinking of getting these

Would a mini amp be recommended for the headphones or would those two suffice?

Good choice.

Both the STX and FiiO E10 have a built-in amp that will be more than fine for your headphones.

Agreed that it is more portable. Other advantages are that you can also use it on a laptop and under another OS (like OS X).

Don't exactly agree on the rest though. With proper cable management or sleeved cables you can make nearly anything look tidy and I think internal stuff looks a lot better than lots of tiny devices scattered over your desk, and I'm an E10 user myself.

Of course lol

Its like an external soundcard but with volume control.

Don't quite agree there either. If money is an important factor, than the E10 is a very good option, but from what I've heard the STX does generally offer better sound quality as well as a lot more I/O.

STX is fuarking epic - if its going IN your rig the get an STX no doubt.

NeverbackDown is pretty wrong here tbh. the STX is what YOU should be buying

I'd vote for the external over the STX. less driver hassle. It'll also last for years and years and years.
I'd go balls out and get this as I've been looking into it and oh my is it good
