After getting a kick up the butt, I needed to get my system into shape.

having never been above 3ghz with this chip, it wasnt easy. I had to raise my NB, PLL, FSB termination and a few other voltages.. However, for a 24/7 overclock, i feel its worth it:

 
Wow, pretty good temperatures for a Q6600. My E8400 gets to 70-80c on 1.440v at 4410MHz, that overclock was rushed though. :rolleyes:
 
nice going mate,now fine tune that clock or go for more!!!!

errrrrrrr How high were the temps!!!are you trying to kill that chip????and that sort of vcore is not good for those chips

I was just trying for a quick crack at a decent SuperPi 1M score. I got 10.823 which I'll be sticking with until hardware changes. :p

Your temperatures are good too considering the 65nm Intel chips (If I remember correctly from the datasheet) are good for up to 85C.

Just to let you know (and not to hijack the thread) according to the following datasheet (Table 26):

Intel state the highest safe temperature for the E8000 series is 72.4C when it's dissapating the full 65W of thermal power.

Table 3 states that Vcore max for the E8000 series is 1.45v.

Intel state operating above 1.45v can cause the device to "either not function, or its reliability will be severely degraded."

Intel say operating above functional limit the "device may be functional, but with its lifetime degraded".

So you're okay voltage wise....

ok, check this out..

cause im at 1.505 at 3.6ghz..

Im on 1.425 in the bios, Its not as simple as just the NB volts, you need to try out the PLL and other stuff as well.. Have a tinker :)
