noob needs help folding

You don't need 4 cpu clients. You only need one set to use smp. One client will use all 4 cores and you will run the SMP WUs. These are the ones worth some points. If you run 4 individual clients, you will get crap for points.

wouldnt he need to make sure hidden folders were shown?

im sure i had to show hidden folders to see in the appdata folder

If you just type the path (or copy/paste) into HFM, you won't need to browse to this folder so no need to show hidden files/folders.

You could also get to the appdata folder without enabling show hidden files/folders by going to the run box and typing:

c:\users\user name\appdata

I've moved this over here as I figured it was more fitting in the Folding Forum.

AMD, have you got HFM working yet? Where do you have your Clients installed to?

HFM does not work for the CPU,it just says unknown the clients are installed in Cdrive

ok after adding the flags to the shortcut in the desktop,and making a config file i am now using 100% of the CPU so all seems to be ok,it downloaded a new FAH core whitch is Fahcore_a3.exe

Have you updated your projects in HFM? Tools > Download.

hmm even tho the CPU is at 100% hfm still shows as unknown

the path is C:\folding@home-CPU\work\

also the time is wrong in the folding client its an hour behind

The path should be C:\folding@home-CPU, leave off the work folder.
