yea you can set it to that res fine, just set nvidia drivers to display only res that ur monitor can support if your worried.
Pretty much.
Monitors these days generally tell a pc, via the gfxcard, what outputs and hert ranges it`s capable of. Anything u use within windo$e, such as games that ask u what res u want to use, are already told what the `safe` ones are for u`r monitor. U`ll probably notice when u go into a game with u`r new monitor, that some of the selections may have changed now to give u some more options for u`r new screen.
In the old days (oh dear), the whole process wasn`t as intuitive, and it was easier to enter screen res off the top of u`r head to `see if they work`, in some cases u had to. Although there was a consensus of what good ones were, and these are mostly ones that are used today. The ole 320x200/240, 640x400/480, 1024x768 etc, with 50/60/75/85 and so on. Generally, if u had a bad res, u`r monitor would emit a high pitched whiney noise >.< - and sometimes collapse to a black screen in all the excitment.
Of course u can still do these things today, but u have to go through the nVidia menus to purposely do it - but there is absolutely no point.
With Windo$e, nVidia and u`r new monitor - all the modes made available to u as standard, are pre tested as safe.
