okay peeps. here goes
we all know that there is not much space for high ram on your mobo if you want this puppy doing it's business for you.
the cooler uses two fans, in a pull/follow-through configuration (shown below)
it is the one fan that protrudes over the ram that causes headaches for some. this can be fixed by slightly positioning this outer fan higher than it is meant to be - but does not look asthetically good.
ok... we (the forum users) have debated in the past, "which is better push or pull?" - and concluded that neither are (they are the same)!!!
so. what if we were to use this method to our advantage when using the D14
instead of push/through/blank we could do blank/through/pull, by simply taking the 120mm fan from the front (pushing) and fixing it to the other side (pulling)
could this be the saviour for a great cooler?
i ask you, the forum members, who have the Noctua NH-D14 to try this out, and let us know if temps change, or if there is room for higher heat-sinked memory, with this set-up
