Hello!

just a quick question for you

do you sell, or, even make, an adaptor for your NH-D14 that makes it compatable with socket 939?

the scenario is my computer is in my bedroom, it runs at 70 - 80 C, its socket 939, and to be honest, its rather loud, i have a fan controler, and i do turn the fans down, but that is what makes it closer to 80C, which is dangerously hot in my opinion

i read the review on this cooler on OC3D, and if it can keep an i7 at 70C, what can it do for a lowly 4200+ ...

another quick question, i know your probably not the expert for everything computers, but, if i did buy it, and if you do supply a kit, would it fit on an Asus A8n SLI-Premium?

my ram is standard height and with very small heatspreaders, its corsair XMS DDR400

thanks for any help you can give me in advance

ian.

my reply, just a few hours later, was this:

Dear Ian,

thanks for contacting Noctua and for your interest in our products.

Officially we don't support the old platform, as you already noticed.

However, we do have a few of the old mounting parts left in stock, which can be used with the NH-D14 as well. The only thing you need is the stock backplate that came with your mainboard and which should still be in place if you use the boxed cooler.

Installation on the A8N-SLI Premium doesn't seem to be problematic and your memory modules, given that they are not taller than 44mm, shouldn't be a problem either.

If you want to receive these mounting parts, please send us a proof of purchase for the cooler and we'll send you the parts for free once.

Kind regards

im gobsmacked, thats the nicest any company has ever been to me, in terms of customer support (excepting apple ofcorse)

methinks thats on the purchase list for when my next pay packet comes

my temps (now ive blown the dust out) are: 28 - 34 idling, or 44 - 50 under load, in a room that is aporox 20*C

so with a NH-D14, im expecting they will be little above ambient...?

would i be right in assuming that?
