No SlI for me

Well I got my second card back from RMA.

Unfortunately its an 8800gts, they repaired it.

So I now have one 9600gt and an 8800gts.

So no sli, but now what? What card do I put in what lane?

One option could be to sell both and get a single faster graphics card. Between the two the 8800GTS is the quicker card.

You could also just use the 8800gts in the main lane (top slot) for graphics and slave the 9600gt in the second land (other slot) for physics. With more and more titles using it, you will see the gains in the future, but if you are going to go for a new card, make sure you psu can handle it

That's a decent upgrade you've sneaked. Maybe try to RMA the other 9600 as well ?

I had an 8800gts 640 that was faulting in ati tool.

Tom found a great deal, another one for 60 so I grabbed that one and RMAd the first one.

As the was away I tested the second and that was dodgey.

So both were away after silly emails.

In the end the first was replaced by EVGA and the second repaired by scan/XFX.

Leaving me with an 8800 and a 9600.

I am now trying to work out if my PSU can cope with both of these cards.

Yeah your psu will be fine, 600 is more than enough juice.

I would definetely use it for physx! Try out the Cryostasis Demo with it see how your 8800GT performs without a physx card and then try it with it you'll see it will give you a boost in FPS.

after playing with the two I dont have a power full enough graphics card.

It boots but wont fold.
