No go?

I had stock 350W power supply and a 7350LE graphics card.

I just went out and bought a 550W BFG power supply and a 9800GT.

I connected everything up, 24pin to motherboard 4 pin to motherboard

sata cables to drivers, 6pin to graphics card

Plug in my power cable into the back of PSU, hit the power button

and VOIL.....a?

no go.

I talked to a friend that knows a lot about computers and is a geek squad person and he told me everything that needed to be plugged in. Maybe I misunderstood him, but I'm pretty sure what I have plugged in is correct.

Somebody correct me or tell me how to fix this so I can play PLEASE

Thanks everyone!

Is there any response form the machine?

Fans spinning for a second, any LEDs on the mobo etc.

There's a little click or scratch sound that appears for less than a second when I hit the power button the first time, if I try it again, nothing.

No LEDs blinking on and off on the motherboard? not twitch of fans any fans pluged into molexs?

If not either something isn't plugged in or something is very dead :(.

Can we get a pic?

Can't find a camera :\

nothing happening.

I have a 4 pin connected into my motherboard, 24 pin, and 6 pin connected to graphics card. Am I missing something?

I can explain everything very detailed if you'd like...

This one is very stupid and you'll probably slap me for this but I'm going to say it anyway:

Did you flick the power button on the back of the psu?

ohhhh there we go!

sike...

of course I did

LOL:nono:

Well you wouldn't be the first :p

Do you have another rig to test the corsair psu in? No sound at all and motherboard working fine with different gpu and psu sounds a lot like a DOD.

EDIT: there's an edit button at the bottom of your post. If it wasn't there everyone would have at least twice the amount of posts they have now :p

Edit2: oh the 550w unit is a bfg. replace(corsair,bfg);

What mobo do you have and which version of the bfg supply is it ?

The psu doesnt have a dual volt switch on it that is perhaps set to the wrong voltage maybe?

If you getting a crack when switching on seems like power is getting to psu.

If its modular supply check sockets are fully home and in correct ports .. usually colour coded.

Like Ham mentioned if theres a small spin up of fans then we can look at connections on the mobo and narrow the search down a little.

Try with one ram stick in, one Hdd basically run with the minium power draining devices.

You dont need all the items plugged in for the mobo to draw power from the psu.

Does your board have on board graphics? if so take the gpu out and try that.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817702010 I've made sure twice that they're plugged in fully. Let me go try with one ram stick.

No on board graphics.

My brothers, but If It's me doing something wrong I wouldn't wanna mess his up :p

So I plugged in the 4pin on the left, 24 pin on the right, and then 6pin on my 9800GT in the 16x PCI slot

If necessary, I'll plug in my old PSU but it's kind of a pain cause I'm slow xD

Actually my old PSU won't support my new graphics card :(

You have on board vga with that board you linked to and pictured mate :)

Try removing the gpu and link directly to the vga ( may need a dvi to vga convertor ... should be one in your gpu box )

Socket no.11 on your link supplied is the on board graphics.

( uses the intel 945 chipset )

using this disconnect the grpahics card and un-plug the leads from the psu.

Also on the back of your PSU could you check which voltage is visible on the selector switch.

AC power in look to the right, small red switch... i notice your in the states so you should have it set to 115v?

Make sure its fully switched to correct volts.

Other than that im afraid im at a loss mate.

Could try removing the mobo from your chassis and check theres no shorting against the case or standoffs.

Take a look closly at the capacitors.. ay swelled or popped.. no black marks on the solder..etc... Obv do all this with the power supply disconnected and dont touch the capacitors with your fingers could hold some stored voltage.!

Good luck. :)

Hmmm... There's no VGA port on my computer. Odd.

Yea I'm using 115V

I guess I'll just... sit.

Quietly.

In my room.

With no computer.

No counter strike matches.

Forfeit all of them.

Because no one could help.

I guess so. :(

Your best bet is to remove the psu and mobo from case and (put mb on table) try from there just to make sure power is going in/working.
