Nice Rig

Hey guys. I'm not sure where the appropriate place for this is, but I'd like to share it with you all.

I thought of a rig that would be nice yet, not the most expensive one. So here goes:

i7-950

Noctua NH-D14

Asus X58 Sabertooth

6GB Mushkin Redline. (Ridgeback or FrostByte. It doens't matter.)

Two 1GB GTX 460's. (Prefferably the EVGA ones that exhaust through the back.)

Corsair TX 850W.

Lian Li X500.

So what do you guys think? I think it's a rather nice build. I'm not planning to buy it, but it's something I'd recommend for someone who wants a good and impressive rig to a decent price. (Decent price can be discussed.

)

Do you guys have any other builds you would recommend to a person who wants a good and impressive rig while it doesn't cost more then a nice used car?

Oh, and a side question. Many people suggest the bare minimum a person needs from a PSU when people ask for PC building advice and I don't like that.

I think it's much better to get a good PSU that will be sufficient enough if the person plans to upgrade in the future. What do you think?

A PSU is similar to an amplifier for sound. They are most efficient and stable up to around 70% of their full capacity. Anything over that and they start to go under strain. One burp and it's game over for all of your components. People who use the very minimum PSU to meet their requirements make me laugh loudly. Simply as they buy a shed load of expensive gear, marry it to a cack PSU and then cry when it blows up taking their gear with it.

Well, I don't think you would blow your PC up if you had a rig like mine and ran it on a Corsair VX 550W. I did that for a little while. And PSU's can be quite confusing. Like the Corsair TX 1200W is rated as 1200W, but got a peak of about 1500W.

And why are you complaining about the GTX 460's? They're pretty powerful when you have two, and they're certainly more powerful then your 5770's.

Peak. Do you understand what that means? and the difference between it and continuos? I hope so.

I'm not complaining about the 460s. I'm complaining because you don't seem to understand that those blower coolers are utter rubbish. Sufficiency on efficiency works (like a 5770) but doesn't tend to fare too well on something that uses twice the power as a 5770 and gets almost twice as hot.

I think it's a very nice rig, though I personally prefer a single video card.

p.s. yeah and Lian Li X500... i don't think its a wise choice, for this price it didn't offer much, id go for something like Lian Li PC-7FN (if u like Lian Li) or Corsair Graphite 600T - this is a really nice and reasonably priced case.

edit: lately I was searching the case for myself and seems like I should correct myself about reasonably priced case(imho) - gonna buy XIGMATEK Midgard as its almost perfect and really cheap case

Yeah, you might be right, but I just love the X500
