NFS Shift on ATI

Apparently if you have an ATI card rather than an NVIDIA one, this is utter bobbins.

I'd love to find out how the fps is, but my 4850 desktops every time I get into the car.

Anyone else on ATI going to play/playing this and want to share? Running latest 9.9s on Win7-32.

Seems to be a Physx thing, much like Batman was.

U tried it on stoopid low settings to see if it happens ?

Sadly it's not just me. The net is awash with people having issues. Then again the way our PC luck has been lately it could just be me lol.

Of course it's a full retail version. What are you implying? :)

Ahhh. Well I suppose if you were the kind of person who'd go into a shop rather than ordering online, perhaps. Can't remember the last time I didn't get a game slightly early. Then again there are so few I actually want to play these days maybe I just get lucky.

I apologise for doubting you, perhaps I should be the resident cynic! I never order games brand new online, I usually wait until they're a tad cheaper.

On the EA forums there are several people complaining about unstable FPS with ATI cards, though they all have less than 4GB RAM. I haven't seen anyone with your issue yet. I would hope a patch is forthcoming, perhaps when they've finished the demo.

i pre ordered mine quiet some time back and its due too be at my front door firday, i have a 4890 soo if i have any issues with it ill get straight back too this thread :) hopefully i dont because ive seen many gameplay vids and it looks pritty darn sharp

I've had the same problem (i'm using a hd4850 too win7 x64 ) game crashes to desktop ..

try this ..

go to my documents folder>nfs shift

delete graphicsconfig.xml

run the game

do not change any graphic settings

play....

this worked for me..

Does that force the game to regenerate the graphic settings ?

Also - xml format... hmmm

most probably it forces graphics to regen. ...

i am running catalyst 9.8

the game doesnt crash but i average 25fps on any track with any/every setting

one thing i forgot to mention ..once you get the game running you can try different graphic settings but ..unfortunately none makes any difference to the framerates....

they better fix all this by the time the 5xxx series come out as if i cant play it in top quality ima be pee'd

yeah. .... you got that right.....

according to a lot of people there are bugs ..in the new 9.9 catalyst drivers

dx11 cards from ati are just around the corner

...ati needs to fix this issue fast......

even more unfortunate is that nfs shift is nvid*a optimized...

The game is weird...... it requires u to restart the game to get all graphic settings applied........ tht imo is stupid......

The game has very minute improvements in graphics than GRID...... but it runs at 1/3rd FPS than wht GRID does....... I hav HD4850........ with GRID I get 90-100FPS...... but with Shift its down to crawling 25-30FPS......

But wht can we do....... EA has always disappointed with the NFS series..... this is nothing new......
