New to PC gaming, New to PC building, New to the forum

Regarding the PSU orientation, my case pulls in filtered air from the underside, which is how I want it, as it'll stop it from pulling air from the GPU, especially when I put another one in there.

The sticker doesn't bother me all that much, though I have been thinking about it today, and I could make a cover of some sort, I'd rather go down that route over using a sticker.

the fan won't spin up. my old AX750 used to barely ever spin up and my current RM750 never spins up. so yea, not much pulling hot air there.

even running 2 x 780 Classified's and an OC i7?

Dont think i will mate, i was running duall 680 phantoms(awfull cards btw) and a i7 3820, in a define r3 case with 3 casefans(running at super low rpm), and the fan on my ax750 wasnt even spinning, and my pc is running 24/7.

Simple clean and effective dude nice one - Id only change two things

1 most important remove the optical drive

2 turn the psu round :D

In order to be able to install Windows 7/8 in UEFI mode , one needs to boot it from dvd . There is a single software i know that is able to create a UEFI bootable USB drive , but i dont trust it . But of course , there are also usb optical driver out there .

Second , like my case , if this case has a hole beneath the psu , designed to provide fresh air for the psu fan , turning the psu upside down will disable that option . To me , thats a very nice feature , with dust filters and so . I've never had problems with my PSU .

Nice build , congrats , but maybe a RED TEAM gpu will look even better :)

I was going to say the same thing! This is how you build a computer ladies and gentlemen. If you don't have the money right away to do an open loop water cooling build and plan on doing it later, this is how you start! Good job dude! Now if I only had the money to build me a computer. :( (seeing this build made me realize this is almost to the t the exact build I have in my newegg wish list.)

You guys can point it out as much as you like but his 4th intake fan wouldn't fit with the PSU the other way up. Ahhh I remember when I used to like fans that much :)

It's a really nice clean build though even if it does look suspiciously exactly like mine used to! The 780 classy is mint, I think i'd swap my Titan coolers for them. If they were worth anything anymore

I'm not a fan of Red builds, but this is just fantastic.

Simple, Clean, effective.

I guess if you really need to keep the optical drive. Colour it black so it doesnt stand out as much.

I never get why you don't like optical drives? I install Windows every few months so, how can you install Windows without one?

Also, nice build! I'm looking to do something similar but with a green/black theme.

You put windows on a USB drive and install it that way, A lot faster.

it's very hard to hide the OD cables. noone likes extra cables
with a flash drive?

With a flash drive yeah, you just run the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool and it creates a bootable image, restart the PC and away you go.

Not really any need for a DVD drive nowadays.

Just a little update; ordered a second 2TB WD Green today and an optical drive enclosure so I can remove the ODD and pop the HDD in its place.

Added a second 780 Classified

Just need to order a backplate for the second GPU, when that's in I'll clean up the PCI cables.

Removed the optical drive, replaced it with a second WD Green 2TB

Fitted a plastic sheet over the white sticker on the AX860

Replaced the BQ exhaust with an SP120

Looks good but IMO you mine as well go for a whole custom water loop. You have so much room in the front and top and with a high end rig like yours it would benefit greatly to have it under water.

I'm surprised I've not seen many of these EVGA SLI bridges so far, they look so good :D

Is there a reason you got a SP fan for the rear exhaust instead of AF?

I agree, I was looking at that big empty bit in the front longing for a radiator to be put there :P Definitely something to consider for the future :)

Yes it is something I've been thinking about, however I am very new to building rigs, and I dont know if i'm confident enough yet to try watercooling.

Also its been up and running for a few months now, I'd like to get some use out of it before I pump more money into it, changing the fans and CPU cooler etc

Just so it matched the SP120's on the H100i really, its a small detail and TBH I dont think an AF would've significally increased exhaust output. Not enough to make a difference anyway.

The SP120's on the H100 exhaust too, and I'd prefer to have positive pressure.

finally completed now.

Added some lights, the second 780 backplate and swapped the 6+2 pigtail PCI cables over to normal ones.
