I think it looks quite good

I only really have the windowsize set to 1024x768 anyway so it fits well.

The only sort of bad things are:

• why is there a empty sidebar on the right?
  
• The navigation buttons on the left don't look that good
  
• The left bar looks almost empty

I think the navigation buttons are more than OK

I disabled ad-block and refreshed but nothing showed (only the flash ad at the top & bottom) must be something in firefox blocking it or something

hmm just tried it in IE and it warns me about ActiveX and when I click the ads, nothing happens.
