New Samsung SSds on the horizon

It doesn't look like they are doing away with anything. It seems to me they are simply adding the EVO to their lineup. The EVO is an improvement over the standard 840 but it is not up to the 840 pro standards.

Maybe I've misread it but other than the memory type and pricing I don't see a massive difference between the two drives. Maybe there will be am Evo pro soon with the extra "business class" features and longer life.

There has actually been found a solution to the SSD aging problem (the isolator can be "repaired" by high temperatures applied directly to it) and a practical implementation is actually possible. But no big SSD manufacturer has yet built such a device (with a MTBF comparable to normal magnetic drives). I had hopes Samsung would use such a thing now but it would seem they don't :(

TLC -> without SSD-Cell-Repair: NOPE the MTBF is so low, its almost ridicoulus :(

Sorry for my bad description of the problem
