New Rig

I was waiting for the snow white competition to be over before I pulled the trigger on my new rig and since it is now finished I orderd it (most of it) up.

Specs:

• I7 2600k (I know, I'm a sell out)
  
• Asus GTX 580 DCII
  
• Cougar cmx 1000 80+ bronze
  
• HAF-X
  
• 16 gigs (overkill, I know) Corsair Vengence 1600 9-9-9-24
  
• Corsair 60 gig SSD (boot drive)
  
• Western Digital 1TB Black 7200 sata3/6gbs x2
  
• Corsair H70, sadly given as a gift so I will use that for at least a little while
  
• Once the P67 motherboards are re-released I am planning on getting the Asus Maximus 4 extreme
  

That about sums it up though, order went through so all I have to do now is wait for the motherboards, going to be a long wait. hah

Seriously mate 16gb of RAM, why you do this?

You might as well save a bit of money and get the Samsung F1 1TB rather than the WD you won't notice the speed difference.

The B3 boards have already started shipping and are available in a few places so you shouldn't be waiting long..

I actually got the 16 gigs to put 8 in the new system and 8 in my LAN rig which is currently running 2 gigs. Also I kind of prefer WD drives, never had great luck with samsung drives.

Ahh, right, I was gonna say 8GB at the most unless you do some hardcore 3D modeling and rendering etc.

I actually do a lot of 3d modeling but am not worried about having more then 8 in the system, I am going from an AMD quad core system with 4 gigs to this new one so the increase in performance will probably blow my mind with 8 anyway.

32 gigs is absurd hah, also like I said in the first post I got it as a gift from someone so I will use it for a while then probably go water cooling.

Newegg got some in stock last Friday but they sold out before I could grab one. So I will just wait and hope to catch it next time they come in. Hope it isn't to long though hah
