new ram but pc crashes?

ok ok cool ooo forgot to tell u this too

my old ram has 1.8v

the new ram voltage is 1.8 but can go up to 2.2 max

atm the voltage for my new ram is running at 1.8 at default since i cant change it at BIOS :(

err if atm i got my ram on slot 1 n 2 running at Dual Channel if i put one 1 slot 1 n other in slot 3 the channel will be single, would it be much different?

I cant imagine the new memory draws more power than the old stuff but it will be interesting to see what happens when you switch PSs.

About your erlier question:

to be honest I really dont know how much difference going from dual channel memory to single channel makes.

last nite i did the same thing twice

played football managaer 2008 , cd drive spins the disc

windows media player on

firefox

doin this 3 things will make my pc crash lol

basically if i have more things running at the same time it will crash, but sometimes its random its pretty hard to explain. i played css n tf2 atm nothing happen lol its just when i play fm08 lol

btw i put my ram in slot 1 n 3 now running at single channel instead of dual

OMG OMG i just put my ram in slot 1 n 3 running "single" channel now atm i got all these running the first time

Firefox with 8 tabs open

windows media player

my muisc file lol

windows messenger

football manager

Word

Access

Counterstrike

Xfire

still no sign of crash!!!!!!

infact pc running very quick

im not if the pc is cold n thats why it running cos i just woke up n stuck the ram in slot 1 n 3 in a min ago

might just leave it on for now let it heat up or something see what happen

awww hope it dont crash now plz plz god be with me

Hope you have found teh solution to your problem, just one final question. Does you rbios let you set for "optimal" and "default" settings? these may be worth a try if it all goes wrong for you.

Oh and welcome as I have not posted in the New to OC3d area yet :wavey:

should just have bought a decent computer to begin with :p

Stress test it. See what you get. if anything...jump on le computer multiple times making sure to fully extend your legs on the way down for maximum impact. imagine it as my head.

Then just buy a new one. buy mine. ill do it for cheap...then i'll have an excuse to buy a new one.

2 n a half years ago now ok £599
