New PSU advice?

Planning on doing watercooling in my CM 690.

Going for a 240mm rad in the bottom, meaning if I was to get a new psu, as TTL says it can only be a maximum of 160mm.

My current one is an OCZ Fatal1ty 750w, and I dont exactly need a new one, but it is 3 years old an the fan has got noticeably louder.

So, a new one has to be at least 750w, 160mm long and has to be modular, or at least semi modular.

I dont want to spend more than £100 really, but this is a little flexible.

Any ideas? Or would it be better to replace the fan in the OCZ fatal1ty?

Thanks in advance

I know they dont have the best reputation...but having said that, I've already had my fatal1ty 3 years and I've never had 1 problem with it, until now with the fan.

Also, half of the ones petrolhead said are around 175/180mm, so far too big, an the AX850 would be perfect - just I'm not sure its worth the £140 upgrade from my currently fully working OCZ :/

The Silverstone Strider 80 Plus Silver is 160mm long (Gold version is 180mm), the XFX is 170mm long, the Corsair HX is 180mm long and i have no idea what size the NZXT is.

What case do you have? Just wondering seeing as you have quite large length restrictions

I have a coolermaster 690 II, but the max length isnt because of the case, it is because I'm wanting to fit a 240mm radiator in the bottom of the case.

So far, the AX850 and the silverstone strider are the only 2 within the 160mm limit.

Ok that makes sense (i feel like an idiot now lol

Anyway, those two PSU's are great. Also take a look at Enermax and Seasonic, didn't list them at first as your budget is £100, but seeing as your considering an AX850 you might as well take at look at those brands too

Eughh, this is getting more and more expensive

Thanks for the advice guys, think I'll go wth either the AX850 or the silverstone

Ive always used Corasir psus and never had a single problem, if moeny is the problem then the TX850 is not modular but it is cheaper and still 160mm

Been looking at the HX750...its actually 180mm though :/

I did see the TX750M though. Thats very cheap, and modular...but...it only seems to have 4 slots in for modular connectors? Seems a little lacking to me?

The TX750M is only a semi-modular power supply. Still, it's the length you want, cheap and corsair is a reliable brand, so go for it.
