Ok lets start off with a thanks for helping.

Secondly Im a massive noob to this but am willing to give it a go.

My budget is £1000 - which I initially thought was a good budget for a high end enthusiast PC, nice to see I learnt something before I bought some parts eh? I intend to clock the chip as high as I can stably for a 24/7 OC - but I can only see that once playing the silicon lottery.

Despite my pc knowledge paring Boris Johnsons political knowledge I've done some digging over the past few months.

Originally enticed my Bulldozer I waited a few months (like 6 in the end >

) but know I know a i5 2500k is just the better choice.

Now to stop rambling and post my findings which I'm quite sure on.

I would like a 120gb SDD boot and a cheapy 1tb HDD. And a small 19" screen - bigger won't fit on the desk. Really tight budget I know but I hope you guys can work wonders (really)

You need to change the normal vengeance rams to LP(low profile)vengeance,if you want to fit the rams under the nh-d14.

Gtx 560 Ti is no match for a gtx570.But if you dont use full HD,a gtx 560 ti is enough.

Other components selected looks fine.

For OS,a 60-64gb ssd will be enough.That will save you some money there.And get a decent hdd.

Looking good man, i would definitely go for a 570 because its just a bit of a step up from the 560ti and i think in the long run it would be worth it. On the point of the ssd, you really need to consider whether its worth spending an extra £100 just for 60-120gb of storage, sure a 60gb will give you 15gb-20gb to play with after you install windows but its still money that could be put towards something else, also i said you could put games on it it wouldn't make it better performance it would just load quicker £100 for that? Not that an ssd is a bad idea becuase if you want top end performance then its the way to go

You could always go with a MSI GTX 560 Ti Hawk or the Twin Frozr 2 version is a great card to have. The SSD is fine. Another one you could look into is the Crucial line of SSDs. They're not bad either.

Just a heads up about ordering electronic items from Play. If it goes faulty after the 28 day period, they don't want to know and will refer you to the manufacturer. I had this recently with them, and will never buy any electronic items from them again.

Go with the 570 and if you want extra performance in the future you could sli with the 750w PSU. When the new Nvidia cards are released the prices will drop and you will gain a massive boost in performance,

I know a guy that has discount on ARIA soooo all of my prices are now void. The only thing I need to upgrade on the specs we have looked at. The PSU.

A good 750W will power a GTX 570 just fine. If it were SLI it's also good enough, but it's never wrong to have a higher rated PSU either.

As I thought, but A) Aria dont sell the lovely Corsair PSU I want and its kinda really expensive at like 100 quid when Im getting deals like 210 for a EGVA GTX 570 (epic right?)

The spec is on the other guys laptop so I'll post up the revised stuff tomorrow.

I can also remember that a GA-Z68X-UD3-B3 ended up as the motherboard. Is that a better board (considering a 50 quid saving from my previously stated price for the p67)

I know its a newer MB - will that mean it will operate better if intel decide to keep the 1155 socket for Ivy? (havent researched IB so I have no clue(but they probably will change it like they always do))

IB is 1155 its a die shrink to 22nm.

There's no need to worry for the motherboard. Since Ivy Bridge is still on the 1155 platform, Gigabyte has already updated most if not all of their BIOSs across all their 1155 boards to support the Ivy Bridge chips.

Looking great for a build. Got to love the GTX 580.

Maybe you could have gotten a better 750W PSU and save a bit of money and get the GTX 570 instead? More affordable for SLI in the future.

Why not go with a 570 with a 750w PSU? That way you can gain a massive boost when you buy another one when the prices have dropped. If you want to go Sli with a 580 you will most likely have to get a higher capacity PSU.

The OCZ 700W you've chosen is sufficient for your system. If you're not going to be doing much OC-ing, then it should be fine actually.
