Just got some new memory the OCZ Reaper 6400 memory at CL4 ( 4-4-4-15 ). Any body else got this ram?

Cheers :worship:

I have the same RAM and it refuses to post at 840MHz with 4-4-4-15 timings even with 2.2V:mad:. Yet it can do over 1000MHz easy on 5-5-5-18 timings. I think it may be my motherboard. I've been having problems with it ever since I got it.

Yea mate excellent RAM. I think my problem is a crappy motherboard, Can't say I'll be using another Gigabyte motherboard again after I ditch this one and go back to Asus.

not your motherboard. Its the ICs the ram uses. The microns like higher volts , the elpida H ICs do not. However 5-5-5-18 at higher mhz will definitely help out if you are on an intel platform compared to lower timings. Not a bad set by any means , just not one for tight timings. :D

I read a review of the OCZ Reapers and they got there's to 930MHz at 4-4-4-15 timings so I was a little disappointed that I was almost 100MHz less then them. It's either the RAM or motherboard that's not allowing me to clock higher then 4085MHz on the CPU and I don't think it's the RAM:nono: Although for some reason it won't let me clock past 1080MHz stable anymore:mad: Can only do it for benching.

the earlier versions did have micron ics in them. But the manufacturers starting price gauging them and since the reapers are middle of the lineup , they get the second rate Elpida ICs. Seriously though , they are really not bad. They last longer , run cooler and need less volts. Microns are really finicky and tempramental . Kinda like the difference between a cute girl next door and a hot crazy hot blooded italian senorita :D .
