New monitor ornage colors have a green tint

So I noticed today when playing tomb raider on my asus pb278q that the fire had a green tint to it and sometimes when watching stuff people have a slight green look to them.

It wasn't like this on day 1 I did download a icc profile from tft central. I have tried messing around with the settings but I don't really know what I'm doing, although when I put it in scenery mode it seemed to go away but then the colors just look bad like that. Any help appreciated.

Edit all I have done in the settings is turn the brightness to 27, contrast to 70 and trace free to 40 everything else is default in user mode.

look to see if the profiles are set wrong, you might want to make the screen warmer to lose some of the bluishness. You can also set a custom profile which is the best solution.

After more messing about it seems to be the DVI-D input, I tried another dvi-d cable which was the same and then hdmi, with the hdmi everything looks fine.

I'm probably gonna have to switch gpu's to see which input is messed up.

edit: My old card doesn't have a dvi-d input but I swear I had a vga to dvi-d thing somewhere....
Should also say that with dvi-d some orange colors look yellow but with the hdmi they are fine.

edit: I switched back to my old samsung monitor and it's the same I think it might be the dvi-d input on my msi R9 290 gpu. To clarify when using a hdmi cable everything looks fine but when trying 2 different dvi-d cables oranges look yellow and yellows look green on both monitors. I tried changing some image settings but it didn't make a difference, I'm not sure what I need to do.

HDMI is definitely the preferred route.

Just no. DVI-D is better than HDMI for PCs and if DVI-D for some reason isn't an option you should use DP.
The only reason HDMI ever had a reason to exist is that it also carries audio signals, but DP does that as well and far better.

you can probably change it on your monitor try in the settings. will probably be under colour temeprature or similar.
alternetavly you can do similar in the catalyst controll center. in desctop management. desktop colour. and are also ones for video.

id probably just do it via the monitor though as its less messing arround.

 oh don't forget those "Gold" connectors that make for a better cable. ;)

That's what I said :)

I guess you missed that the hdmi solved his problems... I was referring to his case alone in this thread, try to stay on topic. :) If (in this case) HDMI solved a problem that was created by using DVI the it was the solution. Using the connection that worked for his case is the preferred method, I don't see why you would disagree with that.

While it's true that a gold plated connector will offer less resistance (due to the density of gold and the number of electrons in orbit, the malleability of the material to conform to the mating surface and the fact that gold unlike copper does not tarnish), I don't think that is what caused this particular problem.

i dunno.. to me if my dvi port made things look green and HDMi did not. using hdmi would not be a solution. it would be a work arround..

also im not so sure the OP fully grasped where the settings they should change were. so i pointed out where they were accessible and what they were most likley to be called..

and finally
im pretty sure the comment about gold plated HDMi connectors was just poking fun at the fact some people seem to believe a £130 hdmi cable will give a better picture than a £13 hdmi cable..

On the bright side, the hdmi 2 will support 4k resolution at 60hz whereas the dvi only supports it at 30hz which is bad for gaming.
