hi guys

after several years i'm looking to build a new rig for myself and i'm a bit confused with the compatibility of some parts.

after many hours of reading & viewing reviews (a big THX to TTL at this point! you're doing a great job!) on this topic i wan't to go with the following configuration:

[xml]

• Case: -- Cooler Master 690 II Advanced

• Mainboard: -- Asus P8Z68-V Pro

• CPU: -- Intel Core i7 2600k

• CPU-Cooler: -- Noctua NH-D14

• RAM: -- Mushkin Radioactive 997005 - 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3-1600 CL9-9-9-24

• GPU: -- HIS Radeon HD 6870 Eyefinity, 1024MB GDDR5

• SSD (Win7): -- Crucial RealSSD C300 2,5" SSD 128 GB

• HDD (Data): -- Western Digital Caviar Green WD20EARX 64MB, 2000GB

• PSU: -- 530W be quiet! Pure Power L7 80+

[/xml]

My goal is to get a configuration that will do it for another several years under these aspects:

• i'm not planing to overclock now, but maybe in the future

• i'm not an hardcore-gamer

• i'm working with photo- & video-editing programs and maybe some 3d-rendering in the future

the last point is why i want to have a safe amount of ram combined with these parts.

and after watching ttl's videos i'm very attracted to the radioactive-series of mushkin.

unfortunately asus haven't listed these ram's on the qvl to the P8Z68-V Pro.

can someone confirm these will (or not) work with the asus-board?

So, what do you guys think of this combination?

i'm open to any suggestion.

Thx in advance!

specs look good - but, i would get several HHDs: 2x1TB, or 4x520GB, and set them up in RAID0

you will see a huge improvement, when editing, with an array of HDDs, rather than a single large one
