New HTPC no picture through onboard HDMI..

So I've just built this new pc, it's only for media on my HDTV

Components are..

Amd Sempron 140 (AM3)

Gigabyte GA-MA785GMT-UD2H

2 x 1GB PC12800 OCZ

Problem is that the VGA output work fine with my PC monitor, but I cant get any picture to display through the motherboards built in HDMI on my TV..

I've tried changing the bios settings from "Auto" to "D-Sub\HDMI" but nothing helps. Also tried a DVI to HDMI adaptor, tried to boot the PC with my PC monitor connected to the vga and TV through the HDMI, it boots and windows detects the Toshiba HDTV, but still no picture. It does however work if I disable the onboard graphics and install my HD4350 card and use its HDMI out..

But that kinda defeats the purpose of buying that board tho..

So, any ideas..?

I would wonder if it matters to the chipset whether u install the amd drivers when the d-sub/hdmi is set in the bios - or whether it'd be ok to change that setting afterwards and expect it to work.

What I'd try is keep the bios on d-sub/hdmi, keep the monitor plugged in the vga's d-sub, and keep the TV plugged into the hdmi.

Remove the amd drivers, and reinstall them.

I'm thinking along the lines of "auto" may have chosen d-sub/dvi and the drivers are geared that way.

It's a long shot.

I also seem to remember seeing hdmi-audio as a separate driver download when I last went to the catalyst thing last. It might have been in the individual list tho. Cos iirc the top download includes everything ?

HDMI audio might be a bios setting too. ?? I did try and reference the gigabyte site on this, but it's not loading. And all review sites seem to be more interested in how well an onboard graphics from a htpc design plays Crysis - pfft.
