New GTS with 112 Stream Processors already out?!

I was just trawling the web looking for information regarding the upcoming 65nm GTS with 128 SP's (sounds like a beefed up 88GT) when I stumbled across a 3 week old review of the 8800GTS SSC Edition. It was assumed the G80 cored GTS revamp was abandoned due to another GTS replacement based on the new G92 core.

I remember hearing rumours about this 112 SP GTS but nothing more substantial. Then the GT landed and the spotlight was firmly fixed on the new member of the nvidia family.

It would seem the 8800GTS SSC release has gone unnoticed, which after reading the review is a shame - it is better suited to users with higher resolutions who enjoy maximum AA/AF (me!).

Have a look

I remember reading about these too, but I believed it was a way to get rid of the G80 core. With the 8800GT G92 cores out, I wasn't surprised that the 128SP G80 GTS's didn't sell

I thought it was shelved! I would have purchased this GTS over the GT as it suits my needs (and others) better than the GT.

As you say they must be trying to get rid of all the G80's in time for the Dec 12th release...
