Won't need a 120hz monitor if G-sync turns out to be as good as it sounds.. 60hz would be perfect enough.
That monitor wont support G-Sync though. You need a monitor that has the G-Sync hardware built in. Compatible monitors are coming Q1 of next year I heard.
Or did you mean you'll grab one for the time being? Personally I want to wait and see if IPS G-Sync monitors become a reality further down the line before I jump on.
A TN panel is still not worth it over an IPS though.I think you're missing the point of G-Sync, the idea is it vary's from 30 all the way up to 144 etc.
Personally I think I've decided on going green. Mantle was always in the back of my mind making the decision hard. However, after some (what I'd like to think) logical thought, I've come to the conclusion that mantle just doesn't really matter. I read it would allow *up to* a 20% performance increase. So at 60 FPS Mantle (with 20% increase) would get you to 72 FPS *if* the games supports it. But Linus mentioned that G-Sync made 30 FPS look better than a higher frame-rate without it because it's completely smooth. So surely any small performance increase on the red team is completely irradiated by G-Sync?
Anyone care to comment on my thoughts?

Why not wait? I do not see much of a point in going the green side now. Before the end of Q2 Maxwell is supposed to be out.. mine as well get the new tech when you get the new tech monitor.
