New GPU and PSU

I'm in the market for a new GPU, I only play BF3 soon to be BF4 in 1920x1080. My 7950 never cut it from day one as I purchased this XFX 7950 falsely advertised as the first version (the reference PCB.) but I got stung (like many did) with the new custom PCB which has locked voltages (the non overclocking version). It hit me the other day when my friend bought the Club3D 7950 and overclocked so well that even another 7950 had 15-20% more performance than my 7950.

Now as for the PSU, I have an OCZ ZT750 and I was new to building my own computers when I purchased this time bomb and I have been eager to change it for about 6 months now since I found out about how (how do I put this nicely) "unreliable" ;) they are.

This brings me to a deal that I'm struggling to hold back on and can't personally think of a reason not to get, so if there is anything that I should know then please do tell. It is for an XFX 7990 and a XFX Pro Black Edition 750W Full Modular PSU for £479.75, personally I was in the market for Corsair/Seasonic but if this PSU is good then that means I'm paying £372 for a 7990. Is there a better alternative, PSU + GPU for the price? I was generally looking at the Sapphire Toxic R9 280x for £270 (they perform very very well for what is a 7970) and a Corsair AX760 which totals £410 as opposed to the XFX PSU and the 7990 for £70 more. I need help

Have you considered Flashing the Bios?
(I'm just looking now to see the success rate)

is your current card covered by warranty?

Bios flash changes nothing, the PCB has been laser cut to not allow voltage change.

As for warranty, I tried so much to get it changed to the original PCB version but the retailer said they was misinformed about a PCB design change so I'd have to try XFX, who told me that I bought the card and I should of known what I was buying and unless the card is broken then they will not be able to do anything.

All that aside, I have a buyer for it :)

I've heard some scary stuff about them and I feel I'm pushing my luck. Most people on this forum would agree on replacing any OCZ PSU.

and linus from linustechtips who worked at ncix store said that ocz were the psus with the lowest failure rate.

And Tom has had a few that caught fire on him...

The hate is quite rational for me, never had an OCZ product that worked properly.

7950 never cut it you say? My 7950 maxed out BF3 multiplayer 64 player maps? I lowered AA though to keep a slightly higher minimum framerate but I was only be super anal about it.

Mine as well wait till the new R9 290x/290 cards come out. NDA ends tomorrow for them. I would say a 750watt psu would easily handle a 290x/290 or a 7990(even a 690). PSU brand would be Seasonnic, Silverstone,Corsair(not CX series), XFX(only gold rated ones),and kingwin.
