I'm just looking at getting a new GPU as my 8800GTS g92 decided to die
(seems like the mem has overheated)
Going to i42 prob didn't help it.
I'm on a x1900xt atm and it's actually running most games I play ok (css stress 430fps with my config)
I've looked around and my first thought was to get a 460 GTX but after reading some articles and looking at prices it seems the 5830 is really cheap at the moment and seems to benchmark higher than the 460 in a lot of games.
Not sure whether to buy a cheap GPU now and wait until new games come out (am looking to maybe playing BF3 + Guildwars2) or get a really nice card now. (am thinking by the time BF3 is out GPU's will be cheaper)
If anyone has any experience of the 5830's or 460's, what are the temps and noise levels like?
The prices at the moment: 5830 £70-80 | 460 £120-150
Sort of swaying towards the 5830 due to price, will miss CUDA a little but hopefully dev's will be looking to OpenCL.
