Hey guys this is my first post here im looking to build a Gaming PC that can handle 1440p i am a Big battlefield 3/4 fan thats the game i play most my friend got a 1440p monitor and i fell in love with it so im getting one too i have a link to what im thinking of building but im worried that the corsair H110 might not fit in the top of the Corsair 450d ? Anyway tell me what you think Thanks :) > http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/3HFHJx

Samsung 120GB evo for an OS? Yikes.. Gonna want a minimum of 240GB ssds since they are hardly any more money and secondly they typically last(especially the Evo) much longer. If anything go for a Crucial MX100 at 128GB if you must go for a smaller drive. I would probably opt for a 256MX100 over a 250GB Evo. Evo's aren't that fast(noticeable to me at least).

Corsair says it will fit the H110, but some people say its extremely tight fight. Depends on the board you end up selecting and if the VRM heatsinks hang over the top of the board's pcb then it won't fit. Safer bet is a H100i.

The only other thing i found an issue with(aside from opinion) is the i7. You don't need an i7 for games. the 4690k is the better price/performance option here, everything else looks good.

They're fixing the firmware issue with the Samsung ssds that degrades the write/read. Never had an issue with Evos myself. I'd go for a bigger ssd though.

-edit-
My 240gb evo boot drive based pc starts up in 8 seconds from cold. You also don't need an i5 as Battlefield hasn't traditionally made use of hyperthreaded cores.

I assume you're using the SSDs for OS etc. and then the WD black for games. You may be better off getting a SSHD for games as you can get a seagate one for cheaper than that WD Black and i'm pretty sure they're faster.

The H110 would be a squeeze I think but not 100% sure so maybe the h100i would be better as I don't know if there's the clearance for an H105.

You could prob save money on the processor and get an 4690k for gaming which would be awesome still!

Spend the saved money on slightly faster RAM maybe? 1866 or 2133 even? Could always buy 8GB of ram for now and add more sticks later
