So after changing nearly every part in my PC over the past 3-4 months, leaving only the PSU and Processor as the last 2 reamaining original items.

I have now decided that it is time to upgrade the processor and start looking quad core, the problem i have is i dont know what is the best one, i am looking at a buget to go up to around £250-£300. I am also looking at which is the best at overclocking, I am not sure if the ram makes a difference but i am using Giel Black Dragon 1066mhz.

If so the Q9550 & Q9650 sit nicely in your budget range. If you dont mind going second hand you could probably get a QX9650 off fleebay.

Although If I were in your shoes I'd grab a Q6700 off ebuyer for £155, put the rest into a quality PSU, saving you money by not getting one later.
