Well i feel that i will be going for the OCZ vendetta but the question now is i am also after upgrading and getting extra fans put onto it, i am not sure what is the best i assume i need 92mm ones, but i am after 2 for the Vendetta along with 2 to go on a Thermalrigth T-RAD2 GPU cooler, and am unsure what is best for around £10-£15 for each.

OCZ Vendetta 2 has a 120mm fan mounted on it. It is very quiet and efficient on my Q9450, oc'd only at 3.2 gig.

I don't think you can add another fan to it because of the shape of the fins? You might be able to mod a fitting, but why? I don't think you would actually improve anything.

I'm not convinced by the Vendetta 2. Maybe its because I have a QX9770, (in fact I'm certain its because of that) but it cannot keep up with overclocking and struggles even at stock. That's after remounting, replacing the fan for a more powerful 2200 rpm jobbie. That said, it is pretty light and almost completely silent. Looking at the shape of it, I think you would need a fair bit of skill to mod it so it was flat on both sides to fit 2 fans

@ Diablo

I think if I really wanted to fix 2 fans to it, I would use 4 of the rubber gromits you get supplied for the normal mount. Pull the gromits through the fan as normal and then glue the ends between the fins opposite the rear fan, to create a push pull effect?

I think that would work as the shaped fins are not pointed, so the frame should keep the fan blades from hitting the fins?

Should'nt look too bad either.

What do you think?

I don't know whether the glue would hold. It might work, but I reckon after a while the whole rear fan would shift round a bit...:(

In the end i went with the OCZ vendetta 2, which arrived yesterday and OMG i didnt realise the size of the actual thing, as well as getting coolers for my GPU and RAM.

I have Noctua NH-U12P and these are my temps.

Q6600@3.6

This is from coming out of a game and taking it, wouldn't allow me to minimize or switch lol.

Considering with stock I was hitting high 40's idle, this is great.

Right i have finally got all the new cooling parts installed and OMG the difference in temperatures is outstanding, with the CPU cooler i am now running at aroun 29c at about 70-80% load, and if i have my bedroom window open it can drop down to around 22c.

My GFX card has dropped dramaticaly also specially as i can run the fan at 100% speed permanantly without hardly any increased noise, with my 4870 1gb overclocked to 780mhz GPU, and 1090 mhz memory it is running atabout 55c at full load. and the RAM cooler has has led's to display the tempts on the fan while it is spinning but it is very rare that it even has to spin fast enough for me yo see the readings, but when it was heating up it was around 29c.

all in all my tempts have dropped by at least 20c across the board, now it is just time to start overclocking the RAM and CPU and the GPU even further.

i am using an Arctic Cooling Accelero Twin Turbo, and it is brilliant one thing i would suggest to anyone who buys one, is when you first inastall it turn the PC upside down and run it for about 30mins to allow the pad's to stick correctly, as they dont hold with huge effect until heated.
