New Countertop Desk

Just moved my computer into a new room on the first floor a couple of weeks ago. Made a 10 foot desk out of a piece of counter top and filing cabinets with a pair of 2x4's for added support. Makes for a very simple desk, but with plenty of surface area.

Needed more room so now the upstairs is just for dissembling laptops, desktops, phones and other electronic devices.

Those are three Qnix QX2710 2560X1440 monitors. All 3 of them are the multi input models, rather then the one with just a Dual Link DVI.

The stand is from Tykesupply. Very well built and heavy. I was looking for one that could free stand on it's own, rather then being bolted down in some fashion. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=261376957764

Very very nice set up dude.

Recently invested in a triple monitor stand myself, how well does the stand sit, is it completely flat on the desk or is the back of it raised?

Jealous of a 3x1440p arrangement though as I'm only running 1080p!

Nice set up you got there!

Same monitor as mine, extra inputs and all. How are you finding the DP2710s?

Not sure what you mean exactly. Now I need more graphics power for some games in eyefinity with those higher resolutions.

They are great. Stands are cheap but thats to be expected with their price tag. Image quality is very nice. One complaint I have is the orientation of the display port. I wish it was flipped around. My display port cables are a challenge to unplug with the release button on the inside so close to the panel. If you know what I mean lol.

Oops made a typo in my post. I meant is the base of the stand in solid contact with the desk or is it unstable at all?

The base is in solid contact. There is absolutely no movement from it in any direction. The two feet are probably close to a foot long.

Things are much better now with the two 780s. They sure OC a long ways! I would add a third just for the fun of it but I realized the Maximus V Formula does not go three way SLI. I knew I should have gotten the extreme.

Anyways here is a pic I took over the weekend. I think it looks pretty cool.

Very nice, Wouldn't recommend a third card to be honest, Only real thing you gain is a little and I do mean a little boost.

Much better off putting that money somewhere else i.e 2nd SSD for Raid-0, Better headset/headphones, More HDD for storage, Different case.

Honestly there's 101 things I would do/get before a 3rd card, A 3rd is only really useful for benchmarking.

Nice setup dude, my desk is made from worktop too, it's a great surface to work on don't you think. I wish I had ten foot to work on though, it would be really nice to be able to spread out more.

Yes it worked out really nice. The back lip is a plus too as it keeps my wires from sliding and falling down the back. I almost went 8 feet but glad I went 10 for just a couple more bucks. Just barely made the corner to get it into this room.

I picked up the two I have now on open box for a pretty good deal. I would have gotten a third at that price but they only had 2. Then I looked into it and seen three wouldn't work anyways. I may be changing more up soon. Might take it up a notch to a 4930K.
