New Chassis :)

Decided that I really liked the look of the Corsair Carbide AIR 540.

Will be posting more pictures later when I change my current system from the HAF X into this :)

My phone died mid way trough so didn't catch too many pictures, but here's a few:

I removed the ODD Bay because I don't use them, and could better make use of the space in the future. However it would have been a good place to bundle cables ;)

Here's the Motherboard installed along with H100i:

My Thermaltake 1200Watt PSU just about fit! I read the specs that this case supports a maximum length of 200mm, my PSU is exactly that. Reason why it matters is because the PSU has an support bracket you adjust to the PSU length:

Pretty much done here, only gripe coming from a HAF X is that the HAF X had a GPU Retention Bracket, As you can see here my card is bogging quite well!

All done:

Here's a few final pictures.

A bit of a Corsair fanboy with the SP2500 in the background ;)

---------------------

All in all, this is one of the best cases I've owned. The install was sweet and simple and plenty of room for expansion. I certainly prefer this case to the HAF X, Cable runs are shorter and there's plenty of space to hide the cables on the other side. Not the mention the potential cooling ability of this case.

All that's left for me to do is to perhaps zip tie a few cables back, apply some black tape to the ATX Power cable on the non braided section and add some LED Strips for a nice touch!

Cheers!

Nice build.

One question - is the USB 3,0 cable long enough to reach a header situated on the bottom part of a motherboard?

Sweet looking rig you have there , I really like the 540 .
Tell us a little more about what's in there , motherboard , processor , ram , graphics card , sound card .... ect.

@Antony1995 - Thanks! I always strive for very clean builds :)

@Lystfiskern - Thanks, The USB Header should reach, I've got plenty of slack on the other side. Give me till tomorrow and I'll double check for you.

@Mark3Max - Forgot to list! Here's the spec:

AMD FX 8350 @ 4.8Ghz
Asus Sabertooth R2.0 Motherboard
G-Skill RipjawsX 8GB 1600Mhz
Asus nVidia 560Ti 448 Edition (Replacing soon with 770)
Asus Xonar D2X Soundcard
Thermaltake Toughpower 1200Watt PSU (From an 2008 Quad SLI Build)

thermaltacky!
anyways, imo the air 540 is one of the most interesting cases for a build, maybe even more interesting than the 900d, especially when you turn it into a liquid 540. i really like that case.
i would reroute the GPU cables, not because of aesthetic reasons, but it seems like they pull the GPU down quite a lot.

The card weighs a tonne. Even without the cables attached is sinks the same.

Anyhow, what's great about this case is that it's knocked a few degrees off my CPU temp, I could run (If I wanted) 5Ghz @ 1.51v and get 60c on the core, of course it's pushing it on the AMD Max Temp limit of 61/62c

However, I found that 4.9Ghz is stable without any voltage tweak from 4.8Ghz and that 15 or so mins into IBT it rests nicely at around 53c, so really not worth pushing the volts and temperature up for a 100Mhz boost. Of course nothing will stress the CPU like IBT does, so perhaps I could ;)
