New case for sandy bridge build

Looking to build a new sandy bridge system but struggling with which case to get. Which case would give me the best starting point.

Depends on your wishes mate. There are simple, extravagant, WC focused, AC focused, small/medium/large - haha sounds like I'm a salesman.

But yeah, I can't just randomly recommend a case:

  • Are you interested in water or air cooling
  • Do you have a limited budget
  • Do you like simple and elegant or extravagant and crazy
  • Any particular cases you have been looking at
  • Certain requirements - windows, fan mounts, sound dampening

Try to understand what you require and decide from there, here's some cases you can look at:

Fractal Design Define XL

Fractal R3

NZXT Phantom

HAF X

CM 690 II

Xigmatek Utgard

The two you listed (Silverstone Raven RV02B-W / Bitfenix Colossus)

Thanks for your post

I have a budget of £130 for the case I will be air cooling at first hopefully with a noctua NH D14 so need something to fit that, water cooling would be a plus if i ever got the nerve in the future. not to bothered with looks just good air flow.

The Silverstone will be your best bet for a white Air case from those two.

If you want to keep watercooling as an option later then take a look at the white Coolermaster 690 II Advanced.

I have reviewed it and use it atm as my heatsink test bench.
