Insurance isn't too much when you consider me only having three years no claims (was on Dads whilst at Uni)

Where did you hear that?

Nothing mentioned here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiptronic

The only problem I know about with an Automatic is:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automatic_transmission

"Automatic transmission provides lower fuel efficiency and power than manual transmission, though the gap is significantly narrowed with modern designs"

I find this fascinating:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continuously_variable_transmission

Especially this bit, which made me LOL:

"CVTs have much smoother operation. This can give a perception of low power, because many drivers expect a jerk when they begin to move the vehicle. The expected jerk of a non-CVT can be emulated by CVT control software though, eliminating this marketing problem."

ed about early tiptronic... Never used one myself so I reserve comment. I bet it rocks :rocker:

Only reason auto tranny's get 1MPG worse and don't pull as hard is because of the torque converter. In most automatic cars it locks in 3rd gear. You can reporgram the ECU and modify the stall speed to make it lock earlier so it pulls just as hard, and gets better gas mileage.

Different strokes for different folks, it's a nice looking chariot, although the fact its wrong wheel drive removes it from my list of cars I would ever own :p

You live in Wales?? It's right hand drive?

Im a rear wheel myself. WHen i move back up to Arlington and get another job ill be buying myself an RX8. I have it picked out, its black, 6speed standard and all stock. 2006 for 15k and looks new. Shouldnt take long for me to find a job back near where my parents live. Dream leather seatings a beaut heres a pic. When i get back on (at work) ill post a list of specs i want to do to it.

This will be for rcaing and track. So i dont really care about gas cause im redoing my moms 68 Mustang to drive and it has a straight 6 for great gas milage.

RX8's are nice but a bit expensive for me considering I don't even drive to work and pay a mortgage :)

The dials are fitted, may get a a pic later
