Hmmm I have 800 USD to spend on a MB, RAM, Cooler and video card.

I have a 955be CPU already.

Should I wait or just got for it now?

I am thinking an MSI 890fx board with 8 gigs of corsairs new vengeance ddr3..cooler undetermined yet, I cant get Noctua here in Japan.

I was also thinking of wating for some modded 570's to come out...this money is burning a hole in my pocket.

Any input would be sweet.

I would say to wait at least till after the new year when more information becomes available about the new bulldozer and Sandy Bridge platforms. prices on the older stuff will start dropping on the older hardware and your money will go farther.

I am also buying a PC from scratch. Looking at several articles I've personally come to the conclusion it is better to wait if you don't have a CPU. You should consider waiting and if you see that prices to performance ratio of Sandy Bridge worth it, maybe sell the current 950be CPU and buy a whole new system.

(At the moment current CPU I am think of buying is also 950BE. Though most likely that will change when SB comes out)

I would say that if you are going to stay AMD and not wait for bulldozer, then the 6 core phenom II's would be the way to go. the Phenom II quads just dont have as much bang for the buck. (at least not to me)

I have a CPU...I am wondering about current tech....sandy bridge isnt high end...sigh....anyway...any more input is welcome..thx

yeah, I didnt see that you already had it when i posted my reply (reading comprehension FTL) If you were going to invest in setting up the 955, then i would keep it as inexpensive as possible. once bulldozer and sandy bridge, and also socket 2011 (ivy bridge isnt it?) come out, you will be wanting that new upgrade all over again, so save as much as you can on the system with the 955. maybe look at turning it into a HTPC when u do the next upgrade?
