Building a new rig and wondering what nvidia card I should get not looking to spend a ton preferably four hundred or less. Unless there is any real reason to spend more prefer to spend the four hundred less if I can. Thanks for your input guys.

I think the first question people here will wanna ask is why Nvidia? surely you just want the best card for your money whether that be nvidia or AMD? secondly 400 pounds? euros?...?

Actually us dollars and nvidia cause in hate and with a passion. It's not a practical reason I know and I'm sure that I shortchange myself but I guess it's like a major preference I could be swayed amd.

The 7970 is the strongest of all high end cards, it excels where kepler just cannot...

The memory bandwidth is much better with the 7900 series, and they are also a hell of a lot faster at direct compute, even faster than Fermi, albeit not a lot faster..

There is plus's for going with either vendor, if you like your PhysX, sadly only one choice... and CUDA is Nvidia only..

It depends on what you want.

For gaming only without anything else i have said, i would go 7950/7970.

I have friends with 7970's and it's a beaut of a card for gaming! But if you insist on going Nvidia as above i would go for a 670

im currently swaying to a 7970 instead of 670 SLI. you can always get another 7970 in the future.
Have you had a bad experience with amd before?
Personally i have tried both brands and i like amd more
and some 7970s with aftermarket coolers are great
Personally you wouldnt be going wrong with a 670 or a 7970
