New build so new case!

Since upgrading this time last year my system has been nothing but a pain in the ass for me. Faulty motherboards, faulty graphics cards and a case which quite simply was awesome on arrival but quickly became an annoyance.

So this year all my Christmas overtime is being spent completely and utterly on a new Sandybridge-E build with no expense spared.

The problem I have at the moment is getting myself the right case.

Ideally the case needs to support EATX boards and must also be able to take a 360mm rad and a 240mm rad without me having cut it up or buy specific components (PSU) to make sure things get mounted properly. Budget is roughly £250 though it being cheaper than that would be ideal as I plan on getting it custom coloured.

The suggestions so far are;

Coolermaster Cosmos 2 (Unreleased).

Xigamatek Elysium (Not really a big fan of it's looks, too similar to HAF cases).

I would be inclined to wait for the Cosmos 2 really. From what I have seen of that case it looks like it is going to be a beast.

Elysium...... Really? It may be big but thats about it in the real world.

It's only in the list for sheer size, other than that I actually really do not like it and the same applies for the HAF series cases.

The other options I am considering are some of the Silverstone range but they have all been done to death.

I guess my problem is not trusting myself enough to cut up and make adjustments to some of these other cases which are available. For the moment I will sit back and pray Coolermaster finally release the Cosmos 2 before Christmas but I will look elsewhere if it doesn't appear.

Cosmos 2, from the photos, looks really cool. 800D is probably one of the not so good cases for air cooling. It's very customisable for water cooling, so that's a good consideration as well.

Maybe look at the Lian-Li range. I know a fair few like my new one, A70B can easily house 360s in the top and 240/280s in the front. Other than that, there isnt much that doesnt look like cack thats fits a 240 AND a 360 WITHOUT getting a dremel and a jigsaw out, im afraid. The CM Haf-x is popular, but dog ugly as is the Elysium. The TJ07 can fit a 480 withoht any mods apart from some mounting brackets, but again, is a bit run of the mill.

Some of the Lian Li range can/will cater for my requirements but I can't help but feel I can get the same case with more features for a fraction of their price.

The 800D is a possibility but I would definitely end up getting the dremel out on that side window to square it off.

I thought you said you didnt want to do any modding? If you are willing to get some tools out, go for a Lian-Li, theres so much scope to make them unique

Guess I am beginning to realise there is nothing out there that will directly cater for my requirements with the exception of XSPC and MountainMods cases which are quite frankly over priced considering how basic they are.

The biggest downer to this search is that I had an IBM e-Server case and a Thermaltake Mozart TX case sat in the garage for months but very recently sold them. Wouldn't of minded cutting those up a bit as I never paid for them anyway.
