New build planning.. Looking for advice

No longer inquiring. This build is in purchased and in progress.

First I will list what I want to use:

NZXT H440 (black/red)
EVGA P2 1000W / Corsair AX860 w/corsair cable upgrade kit (red) *undecided*
Asus Maximus VI Formula
I7 4770k
Corsair Dominator Platiumum 32Gb 2133
Asus Poseidon GTX780
2x Samsung 840 Evo 500Gb
Corsair h105 with SP120 pwm

The main thing I want help/feedback on is that I want to eventually go Full water loop with another GTX780 for SLI. I am just torn on how compatible my part selection is for water cooling. I would like to use monsoon acrylic tube hardware, dual 360x120 rads, 200+mm res, D5 vario pump, and Phobya Zero clear. I am thinking about a dual loop. The mobo and poseidon are both anodized Al, and I would like to keep them out of the cpu loop. Or is that really an issue based on Asus claims for their anodizing.

Like most people coming into this, I get a little put off from water cooling due to all the mixed metal, premix, brand issues, etc arguments.

This build is going to happen soon, and I appreciate any feedback and valid criticism. As stated, I don't plan to water cool just yet, but I eventually do want to go for it.

Thanks in advance. I enjoy reading all the discussions and have possibly become both over informed and under informed in some way, hence my inability to make a decision.

yeah unless you're chucking a peltier in there you don't need that high W psu :)

I agree that as it stands the PSU is overkill, but it will power another 780 down the road with mass cooling. I just figured get it now. My budget can handle going SLI and full loop now. I am just not ready for that.

ok. I like everything that psu has to offer. Is there something comparable at a lower wattage? Isn't there less stress on the PSU if it can handle more than you put on it? I would prefer longevity and quality over price. Again, this build hasn't happened yet. All these parts are just sitting in my online carts.

Please recommend a better alternative.

Even with 2x 780s in SLI according to the PSU calculator you'll be drawing 578 watts you can of cause see for yourself here

As barnsley said, a Corsair RM 850 will be plenty

the RM850 is not fully modular, and not 80 platinum. I am going for some eye candy with this. It is not a "budget build".

Would a 1000w be under less stress and therefore last longer?

how about the Corsair AX860?

the AX860 doesn't get very good reviews though....

It's 80+ Gold and fully modular. You really don't need 1000 Watts and I'd rather get an awesome quality ~850Watt unit then an average 1000Watt, personally.

how about the Corsair AX860?

That'll work too :)

the part that is a bit annoying is the limited stock of so many things. It is extra difficult finding places that will ship to APO. Amazon won't ship certain items, and Newegg is out of a lot of thing and charges shipping to APO. Even other sites like Frozencpu are out of so many things. Availability of items is what is putting my water cooling on hold, and why I am trying to find things that will work now and still work when I go all out in the future.

The AX860 is ok, but I would want to get the corsair cable kit for it, but it is sold out.

anybody care to weigh in on the future water cooling questions I had asked?

No need for further posts. This build is finalized and purchased. If interested, look for my build later in the build section.

Thanks.
