The do, they call them public wishlists. It's separate from their shopping cart.

Ah ok. Just my whole time on OCN I have never seen anyone post one. Op should do that then. I doubt op will even reply now.

From what I can see on the list its.

  • CM Storm Trooper.

  • An EVGA 580 ... if you need to free up room in the wallet then ok. otherwise the 670 is better value.

  • WD BLUE 1tb

  • Asus Zonar .. good

  • A corsair HX?50 ...looks like 850.

  • Corsair dominator ram.

  • EVGA FTW 2011 socket mobo.

  • Corsair gt SSD.

  • Intel Core i7 3930K

Not a bad build but.

I would grab a Samsung 830 SSD. Its faster than the M4 and rock solid.

Why are you getting the EVGA board?

What will be cooling this?

this is for gaming rig

A 3930K is massive over kill for gaming. 3570K is where it's at. you only need a cheapish z77 mobo too since they all perform the same (and that is excellently). Something like a MSI z77a g-45 is perfect.

You'll only need to get 8gb or RAM then too (8gbs of 1600MHz RAM is more than enough for gaming).

I'd get a Caviar green instead of the blue for the HDD. You don't need the speed since you have the SSD for programs. Save the planet by saving energy :D

You'll only need a 650W PSU for this build too.

H100 would be a nice complement.

the 850 is for when i add a second evga gtx 670 and i was wondering about the corsair i heard the 3930k runs kinda hot and was wondering if the h100 would be a good cpu cooler?

Forget the 3930k altogether. 3570k, as said by others, is all you need. The H100 is a solid cooler, just be prepared to change out the stock fans for quieter ones.

850 is overkill for 2, the 670s slip power. H100 would be a great cooler, only thing better would be a custom loop.

can someone tell me why atleast the 3570k is better? is it cause of price vs performance? and would it outperform/be just as good the i7 26/27K?

They are only saying that because its alot cheaper. The CPU and the board are cheaper by a good amount. But I was buying a new mobo/cpu now it would be 2011 for sure.

Not by much, its more efficient on power and heat output.

For games, a maximum of 4 threads are ever used. For the majority of the time, 4 aren't even utilised.
The 3570k also has a superior architecture, so clock for clock it shall outperform SB-E. With a H100 you should get around 4.7GHz out of the chip.

Regardless of the science or whatever behind it, the fact is that Games will never even come close to maxing out a 3570k so the thought of getting a 3930k for gaming is just stupid
