New Build Confusion

I thought I had done enough research but now I'm unsure.... I was going to go for:

Intel i7 6700K
Asus Sabertooth Mark 1 Z170
Corsair Vengeance LED 3000mhz

I've now been told by the retailer this ram won't work and is not compatible

Does anyone have the above, any issues?

For around the same price point what would you suggest for a mainboard as I would definitely like to keep the Corsair ram.

I'll mostly be using this PC for 4K video editing and a bit of gaming.

According to the Asus website, that board handles ddr4-2400 maximum.
