New Build Advice Needed

whats the difference between the normal and the K? i just chose it as it cost more (assumed better).

Power supply, any specific reason for changing?

Graphics im still going to research as its always the most expensive part.

The "K" version has an unlocked multiplier for the CPU for overclocking purposes, other wise they are identical. Our build is identical with exception of cooling, I prefer Gold Cert over Silver. With that said check out http://extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine for PSU requirement. For GPU I use both but prefer Nvidia and GTX 670's a good choice, identical to GTX 680.

so dosent it make sense to get the K to get better overclock?

Other than that ill look at the gold psu and nvidia 670

Yes, yes, better performance and energy consumption. I don't assume everyone will overclock, hence i7-3770 but achieving up to 4.6 - 6.9 GHz w/3770K sure why not. Youtube the GTX 670 for latest/greatest reviews.

ok guys so hows this build? Assuming i carry across the pump and CPU block from my old pc (will the cpu block on an old i7 fit the new processor socket?

And also assumes I want for the new rampage board to release in next few weeks

also i am unsure on the graphics card, is this the one to go for?

Just my idea of a colour matched build, I would use as much of your current loop as you can to help drive down costs. I would also paint out the red lines in the GPU just so everything does match nice and colour coded

Can I ask the reason for the RS240? It will be adequate in cooling a cpu only,, but if you are looking to overclock, it may be a better idea to look for a thicker radiator if you can fit it in the case, or the EX240 if 35mm is the thickest you can get.

im, only cooling cpu anyway. going double as the case cant fit a triple inside from what i see and im sick of using an externally mounted triple like i have on my current build, i didnt realise the thickness was different, ill look into the EX

I know you have a sizable budget and all but you really aren't going to see the difference between a 3570k and a 3770k (or a 3960X even) for gaming. You might as well save your money there imo.
