New 23" monitor

Hi all

I'm looking into getting a new 23" monitor. Currently looking at the Dell Ultrasharp U2312HM so 6bit IPS (£175) 8ms etc. Or Samsung S23B550V non IPS (£100 after rebate) 2ms etc.

So my current rig is i7 920 at 2.6GHz, Asus P6T, Gigabyte 260GTX. Basically going to replace the 260GTX in spring with 660ti so I can play Total War: Rome 2 and battlefield 3. Will also be picking up a corsair 550D case and a noctua cooler.

I do a fair amount of photography more for fun than anything professional but do like my photos to print as I develop them on screen.

What are peoples opinions of the monitors / what would you go for?

For the colour reproduction, go with the Dell. IPS>TN all day er'day.

What about the iiyama x2377hds, or the LG IPS screen. Pretty much the same as the Dell spec wise, but a fair bit cheaper

They are good screens. The IPS panel isn't made by LG - can't remember who makes it, but it's the same as in the iiyama - which I have - So I can vouch and say it's a great screen

I'd recommend the Dell (I have 2 of them).

By the way... AriaPC are doing them damn cheap.

*Edit* Seems AriaPC's price has went back up to £175.

Pretty much any IPS panel monitor would be better than a TN. I would go for the Dell.

about the dell does anybody know about the rev numbers? currently seeing one website specifying a rev A05
