network drive help

Hi guys,

Ive currently just had a sky router put into my house and was wondering if i could use an external hdd connected to the router as a network drive?

The problem is there is no usb slot on the router so would a rj45 to usb adapter allow me to do connect it to the router?

Quick replies would be helpfull!

You need a drive that works over a netowrk or a router that supports network drives. From what you have briefly discribed my guess is it wont work that way fella.

You need a proper nas enclusure or a router that supports USB file sharing.

Ok i was hoping this would not be the case. The router i have is Netgear DG934G which has four ethernet ports and is great for media streaming. Thought there would have been a simple solution like this connecter which would have been too easy eh?

Shame about having to possibly buy a nas box though.
