I currently have the current config:

Asus P5N-E Sli

Crucial Ballistix 2GB Model: BL2KIT12864AA1065 - Retail

Patriot Extreme Performance 2GB Model: PDC22G8500ELK - Retail

BFGTech 8800GTS Vid Card Model: BFGR88640GTSOCE

Creative X-Fi Extreme Gamer Fatality

Intel Quad Q6600

OCZ Game Extreme 700 watt Power supply

Everything is great, except I really REALLY HATE the P5N-E Sli motherboard. The eSATA port is really flaky, and something is just really wrong with the SATA controller on this thing. But I digress.

So I am going to be purchasing a new one. I just don't know which one yet and was hoping to get a little advise from you fine peeps.

The one that I have in mind is the Asus Maximus II Formula:

Newegg Item N82E16813131319

Do any of you have any experience with this board or have any other opinion about it? The memory I have works fine on the P5N-E Sli board so I would assume that it would work with the Maximus board. The memory compatibility would be my only concern as I don't think either of them are on the QVL from what I can tell. Is the Maximus board tolerant to most memory?

That is really the only board that has caught my eye. I'm not really familiar with other brands to know which ones are the ones to have or the most rock solid ones, but I would sure be open to suggestions for anything that someone would recommend with the memory I have.

Thanks in advance!!

If your sticking with DDR2 take a very hard, good long look at the Abit IP35 Pro. I made the move form a P5N-E SLI to one and it's been heavenly.

There are more 'modern' boards around but they offer very little extra in the end.
