need some help with laptop

hi everyone i have just cleaned my gf laptop um it is more then 3 years old and i changed termal paste well its prety l8 and i have few questions i will try google it out tomorow anyway but maybe someone knews what should be average cpu temp for acer aspire 5738Zg in idle it was 39-49 when i cleaned i forgot to check before doing that =D pc works not that loud like it was anyway when i ware changing termal paste i seen strange thing ... cpu paste was mostly still (WET") but gpu and i gues SB or maybe NB (i dont knew much about laptops) they all 3 ware cooled by cpu cooler .. anyway those other 2 ware like hardened paste like some termal pad ( like in gpu's) but not perfect shape not sure so i put same termal paste like on cpu so what im interested is it ok that i put tarmal paste on all 3 of them maybe i needed something else on gpu and other ...thing it seem like cpu cooler has enoutgh presure ... plz no unnesesery talks like learn english and bla bla bla if u can help help if not dont write thnx for everyone who read and try to help .

It good, the thermal paste, in both cases CPU, GPU even chipsets... does the exact same thing... helps the heat transfer between the chip and the heatsink. I don't see why there would be different thermal paste compounds for each of the three separately.

39 - 49 idle seems fine for a laptop given the confined space. Put the laptop under load and then report back with the temps. If the temps are around 60 - 80, the laptop is fine.

well i hope so coz when i ware cleaning it looked like all 3 are with termal paste only gpu and other chip termal paste was hardened already i will run more tests today on it have lots of work today

i did short 15 mins run yesturday it was around 79 C with prime but probably should run prime+ furmark for gpu

If your temps are around 79c, there should be no reason for you to be worried about it. In laptops there's very little room for fans and heatsinks, so that kind of temperatures under Prime95 stress testing can be expected

revoltec cooling termal conductivity 4.5w/m-k termal impendence<0.081 C-in2/w 10%silver its basic cheap termal paste i think it hasint got more value on laptop coz anyway she dont use it a lot only for studies word and browser games ... facebook mails...


done 30mins burn with prime 95+furmak on burn too and i got 1 core 88C other 94C on core temp and 83/88 on cpuid hwn pro this is max temps but stil on burning tests on its now ("idiling") 73/75 coreclock and 69/72on cpuid temps seems fine but is it normal that 2 cores has so much diference + gpu temps must be same but none of the programs show it probably no sencor in it coz this is integrated video...

That thermal paste can really make a difference... I'd recommend you to use Arctic Cooling MX-4 because it's fairly well priced and has excellent performance. Thermal Conductivity of 8.5 W/mK would be almost double than your paste, so it might drop those temps a bit.

I'd say don't bother getting better thermal paste if all she's using it for is browsing and facebook etc. CPU's don't get very close to prime95's temps even in gaming... not to mention browsing the web and chatting, so I think the temps are fine as they are.

Yeh, don't bother changing the paste if she's not going to be doing anything near as intensive as prime95.

=D dude yea maybe 2x thermal conductivity but 5times the price =D while she really don't need that would be waste of money and time (her acer really takes time to open =D) thnx for all the replays and help i took care of that pc few days and results are ... good indeed pc don't heat that much as before overall pc temp is way lover it don't produce so much noise even works a bit faster but its more like because i clean much of unnesisery programs and shit out off it pc seems running stable and with no gliches so thnx for all the help again ...
