hi

im buildding a pc with 2600k and z68 ud4

and want to have a red and black color scheme (inside case)

i have red ram, red 6870 gpu

i have a fractal r3 white case and it come with white fans

i want red case fans 120mm and 140 mm

and also need 2 red fans(120mm/140mm) that i want to replace on the nh-d14 cooler (i want to oc to 4.6ghz so il need decent red fans)

as im want my build to be silent so they have to be quite fans similar or better than the one's i have

ive seen one or 2 red one's but they are not as good as the original fans i have

or can i paint the original fans red if yes which paint i can use

thnx

Enermax makes some great fans. I believe their Twister Fan series, the Magma has the bat wings type fan blades in red, but it's non LED. It's fast and quiet.

hi which fans will be good for the nh-d14 cpu heatsink

enermax

xilent

phobya

Well for a heatsink you need a high static air pressure and CFM but also very quiet. And none of them touch the Akasa Apache's. Akasa Apache's are very very good for aftermarket fans for heatsinks and normally very much improve the cooling but still stay quiet. They are far better than the origional Noctua fans and the same quietness but push allot more air and have a high static air pressure. Apache's are the way to go.

I myself on my D 14 am having an Akasa Apache as the 120mm front fan and a Thermalright 140mm [similar to the Noctua just as quiet but far better with allot higher static air pressure and CFM] as the middle fan. This works far better than the Noctua fans and is still just as quiet.

i know but im looking for black and red color scheme

ps can i put akasa appache 120mm andakasa appache 140mm on the nh-d14 instead of thirmal right 140

thnx

what do you mean by two seperate screw holes & single barrel shaft

the noctua 140 has 4 holes and then needs adaptors to fit on 140mm

The Noctua has 8 holes, two at each corner, one on the front, one on the back. Excaliburs have one giant hole from front to back as opposed to two shallow ones.
