Ok, i have modded my 480 and fitted 2 120mm fans to the heatsink, that went perfectly fine, the issue is, i went to attach some better fans to it (Corsair H100 original fans), and the heatsink to one of the VRM's has fallen off, including 1 memory chip heatsink.

I have no way of replacing them as the sticky is not working on the heatsink...
And i have no spares.

I managed to get one of the heatsinks back on (larger one) but only really covers the 2 VRM modules, leaving the 4 uncovered.

Here is a picture of my exact 480 with the heatsinks attached:

Do you think my 480 will be fine?

Here is a diagram of the affected parts:

RED depicts where the heatsinks are placed currently.

Can you not stick them back on?
Or buy some new ones?

Looks like i can, but not right away, not enough funds.

Problem is, i will have no gaming PC if i cannot use my GPU, my other rig is currently in use :/

Youll be fine, the heatsinks fell of my 480 card, 2 x memory and 1 x vrm and it is still going strong at 850mhz overclock 1 year later

Some LN2 benchmarkers use pritt to glue their heatsinks on. You can try that if you are really worried.

Ahh that is a relief!

I guess i will have to find a lowest possible voltage, and a good OC on the core, and keep temps down, i really cannot afford a new card right at this moment, but i am building an new rig soon.

Cheers for the info guys, i will run the card now at 850 core, it is an easy OC for the 480, and i can run it 100% stable at 1075mv, but i will fine tune that, see if i can bring voltages down even more.

The memory is apprently specc'd for 5000mhz, which is completely bonkers, because my 480 cannot run any thing above 4.2ghz on the memory, which also may mean, the memory is undervolted on 480's....

So that missing heatsink may not even be an issue, plus my fans are huge, and pushing gobs of air around the entire PCB.

:)

the heatsink that's fallen off at the back was for cooling the power delivery. I would not use the card until getting one on there personally.

You can get thermal glue / sticky pads to re-stick it with.

Well, if someone has managed to run a 480 for over a year with 2 missing Vram heatsinks, and a VRM heatsink missing, i doubt it would hurt me to use the card until my next lot of money comes in :)

I do not intend on leaving it like this guys ;)

Won't have any issues i do not think, i am going to use the H100 on my 480, then bang the Vram chip heatsinks onto the VRM's, it's worth a bash, i can always re-apply my coolers etc...

I would still advise you get some double sided thermal sticky tape though and try to put them back on..
