Ok well im planning to make a sandy-bridge E build

futuristic buid plan (with parts that will actually need a PSU)

-- only gonna build this when the gtx 600 series will be out

i7-3930k ~200w?

2x gtx 670 ~600w?

16gb ram

1 ssd

1 hd

1 H100

cm storm case with 4 120mm and 1 140mm fan

obviously gonna be overclocking 24/7 wise the CPU and the GPUs

I'm thinking just to be safe 1000w will be needed

but i have no idea what brand/model to go with.

any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks

no one can really answer that questiuon right now. Not until the 600's come out and we see the power req's But current models have 560's at 500w 570's at 550w and 580's at 600w might stay the same might go up might go down hard to say. But I would think if ya went with a AX1200 you should have ample room but I may be off as well... I know current specs recommend a 850 for sli 580's if I was to do one today with 580's I'd go min 1k as I like to have extra room.

nice thanks

and now that i realise my real question is whats a or some good PSU with

1000w-1200w PSU for 200-300$

i checked and Corsair is good with the

HX1000 and the AX1200

sad there isnt an in between model ~1100w

Ya i just checked the review by Tom

but i just find the AX1200 godly over kill!!!

the system on load will probably only go up to 700-750w with a good 20% overclock

thus my asking of a ~1100w PSU

but i think ill actually go for a HX1050 then gives me a good 300-400w over head.

except if theres a big flaw in this PSU i think im set?

To leave some more room for additional components in the future, I think a good 1000W will be pretty safe. A good 850W will surely be enough for x2 plain GTX 580s. Other great 1000W PSUs you may consider could be from the be quiet!, Enermax or Seasonic series.

ok so i checked and for the 1000w-1100w category its

Corsair HX1050w ~220$

Enermax revolution85+ 1020w ~210$

SeaSonic Platinum-1000w ~260$

so for people who know's of, used or seen in action

what would be recommended, there all in my price range, all have 5+ years warranty

above or at 1000w, all at or above 80+ silver, plat if fun but no real performance bonus for 50$ premium

Whats recommended ?

If its all 3 then I'm probably going for corsair, ive followed them for a while case/ssd wise

i only know enermax from their fans

and never heard of seasonic

EDIT: well i checked these 3 PSU's on newegg and all 3 are pretty great, thus my thinking of going corsair but i just like being sure XD what do you guys know of these 3 PSU's?

Corsair but if that price is after rebate dont count on the rebate lol they hosed me on mine but still a great product

Between the 3, I'd probably go for the Seasonic. Their X series was great and I have high hopes for this one.

Ya these are the prices before taxes and shipping

but still in my budget.

still not 100% sure but I'm leaning towards the HX1050 more cushion at load ill only be using 50-75% of this PSU that mean it will be quiet !!!

and like i said i never actually followed enermax or seasonic thus im a little reluctant towards them.

I just wanted to make sure there wasn't a major hidden flaw with the HX1050 and use enermax or seasonic as backups.

Still thanks alot guys

Seasonic is a good and trusted brand (check it out I've heard some of Corsairs line are rebranded Seasonics) but I'm with ya not for a 50$ price premium

Yup, I totally understand. The HX1050 is the replacement for the HX1000. You won't have any worries with the HX1050. It's going to be a solid unit.
